Our Vision is:

A health system that reduces health inequalities; where people are more active participants in their own health and wellbeing, and the strengths of all sectors – particularly the voluntary sector - are maximised.

Our Mission is:

To develop and test innovative programmes and prototypes that improve health and wellbeing, tackle health inequalities, and reduce demand on NHS services. We explore and test new ways of working together and delivering services to patients, showing real-world impact.

By uniting the voluntary, public and private sectors, alongside academia and the wider public, we have the best opportunity to tackle health inequalities.

We were one of the first organisations to test social prescribing 'at scale,' by bringing together experts from various sectors. It has gone on to be widely adopted by the NHS.

Social Prescribing is a powerful tool, and we’re still exploring where else it can have an impact. But it’s not the only solution and we’re ready to explore a wide range of new ideas.

We're not afraid to take on challenging issues if there's the potential for impact and future growth. Testing new ideas has an element of risk, including financial risk, but we are experienced at managing it, and are prepared to learn and adapt.

We believe in rigorously evaluating the impact of our work, and considering the benefits - from improvements to people’s wellbeing to financial savings for public services.

We focus on how learning can be acted upon, from making the case for wider use of our approaches to changing wider practice, commissioning and policy.
