Launching our Suite of Maternal Mental Health Services Evaluation Reports

Today as Ways to Wellness hosts our Maternal Mental Health Services Prototypes celebration event at the Newcastle Lit & Phil we launch our suite of evaluation reports sharing learning from the four prototypes.

Our choice of venue for this event is deliberate. As a centre for learning and a historical hub for thought leadership we have hosted regular learning events at the Lit& Phil throughout the lifetime of this project, bringing colleagues together across the health and care system and across sectors, to help us shape the prototypes and collaborate in this innovative test and learn approach together.  Today as we come together to celebrate the amazing work of our link workers and providers, together with families, we proudly share our findings.

Working with an independent evaluator, Juliette Hough, and with our four providers Everyturn (working with Well Up North PCN and Valens PCN) in Northumberland; Teesside Mind; Sunderland Counselling Services; and Together We CiC in North Cumbria the reports present quantitative evidence as well as rich storytelling, bringing to life these innovative prototypes.

The suite of reports comprises:

  1. Summary evaluation report

  2. Evaluation report

  3. Learning report: presenting learning and guidance for replication.

Launching the evaluation findings Ang Broadbridge, our Maternal Mental Health Services Project Manager said:

“Together with the learning report with guidance for replication this suite of reports really well ensures that we are stewarding the learning from these prototypes, in a way that is able to have influence and convey the journey that we have been on together towards greater VCSE integration for women and families, engaging with complexity and building strong collaborations.

We are grateful to the women and families who shared their stories so generously, together with professionals who wanted to tell us about the difference this work has made in the systems and pathways they deliver.”

Over the coming weeks we plan to share these findings and invite further discussion, with blogs, webinars and other learning outputs to follow, please contact Ang Broadbridge ang.broadbridge@waystowellness.org.uk if you are interested to hear more.
